About

I have been a communicator in the public sector for over a decade. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Midwestern State University in 2013, I began an internship in the Marketing and Communication Division at the City of Hurst, Texas, in 2014. I have been promoted multiple times over the years and currently serve as the Public Information Officer. During my time at the City of Hurst, I have gained experience in crisis communication, campaign planning, strategic communication planning, brand management, video production, and much more. I am also skilled in photography, social media, website content management, and graphic design.

I earned a Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2024. I am also a member of Cohort 12 of the Certified Public Communicators program at Texas Christian University and will complete this program in July 2025.

I am a member of the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers. At the 2023 TAMIO Conference, I presented during a breakout session about how to conduct a Communication Audit and use the results to establish a Strategic Communication Plan. Over the years, I have received numerous TAMIO Awards, including Best Small Shop, Internal Communications, Best Marketing Plan or Campaign, and Best Strategic Plan.

Serving the public in this capacity has been incredibly fulfilling, and I look forward to other opportunities to use my skills and knowledge to further make an impact on my organization and community.
